The Chicago Bar Association’s Animal Law Committee, with support from The International Institute for Animal Law, is sponsoring a seminar on animal law topics that are not in the forefront of the news, issues that affect millions of animals used for scientific research, agriculture, entertainment, and wildlife. Speakers will each be addressing a different aspect of animal use and regulation, focusing on their individual campaigns in addressing legal concerns regarding these animals.

2.75 hours of Illinois MCLE credit will be earned through the CBA.

Panel includes:

DR. ALKA CHANDNA, Ph.D., is a Senior Researcher for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, discussing the role of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees, mandated for animals used under the Animal Welfare Act, and the role they play—or should be playing—in protecting animals used in research.

JAMI LoVULLO is an Animal Safety Representative and Humane Officer for the American Humane Association, discussing applicable laws, regulations, and standards of care used in inspecting and approving the use of animals for movies and television.
